The biggest event in our gaming history
When did you first start playing AE games? How long have you been playing? How is it possible that we will have been creating weekly releases together for 10 years next week? 10 YEARS!?!?!? We need to do something special. Not just special, we need to do something bigger and crazier than we have ever tried before. We need to do a new "1st!" So join us next week, on Friday, October 12th @ 6pm EST for a special event that will span ALL 6 of our major games!

The biggest event in the history of our game network!
We only have a week and a few days before the 10th Anniversary event... and while we are super excited, we have so much to do! Building an event that will span AQWorlds, EpicDuel, DragonFable, MechQuest, HeroSmash and the original AdventureQuest is no small task! Also, from a plot point of view, it is pretty tricky since all of the games take place in different time periods and with different sets of characters. As always, if you have ideas for cool monsters that can span the games, please let us know on Twitter, Facebook and the Forums! Oh wait... or you can post below!

Also coming this haunted month of October!
You know, it is all because of you guys that the games are here. 10 years is a huge reason to celebrate. Especially when you glance at the giant graveyard of game companies that did came and went during that time.
October Line Up!
- 10th Anniversary ALL GAME special event (next Friday, Oct 12th)
- AdventureQuest Classic's 10th Anniversary Quests (Friday Oct 19th)
(written by Artix & Eukara and featuring special guest artists Oishii, J6, Dage) - Rolith & Alina's wedding (AQWorlds Special Event, Oct 19th)
(Two of AE's beloved team members fell in love, became engaged, and are getting married!) - Special One-Eyed Doll music video premiere & Artix themed CD release!
(The CD has officially been titled, "...something about a Dragon!?") - HeroMart will release the 2013 Calendar & 10th Anniversary shirt
- EpicDuel's 3rd Anniversary with us!
- AdventureQuest World's 4th Birthday
- MechQuest's 5th Birthday
- "Special Secret Release" on Halloween (Mogloween) night!
- ... and a lot of other stuff that I am forgetting.
QUESTION: When did you start playing AE games? What was your first game? Which was your favorite so far?
Anyway......My first game was Adventure Quest Original (and a fantastic RPG it was)that i just happened to see a friend playing a very long time ago, boy am i glad for that! My favorite is definitely AQWorlds although i do greatly enjoy Mechquest, and Oversoul looks very promising ( i also really liked the concept of Herosmash). All in all, AE has never failed to captivate, surprise, and just give me an overall great feeling, and i am proud and glad to have had the honor to partake in such a fantastic gaming community for all these years. Thank you. Reply Posted on

Since then I've seen a lot of games - gotten into D&D myself, played several full-fledged MMOs, and even dabbled a bit in game designs of my own - but I keep coming back to AE games because they're just really, really fun. No matter what genre you explore, or what systems you use, you never seem to let anything get in the way of letting the player just have fun. And after all, that's what games are for.
I'm not sure what I'd consider my favourite AE game at this point; I'll always have a soft spot for AQ, simply because it was my first. MechQuest and DragonFable are pretty similar, but they each have their own unique brand of 'awesome' - enough so that I actually purchased a Dragon Amulet. That probably makes it fair to argue that DF is my 'favourite', but I'd honestly buy a membership to all of your games if I could afford it; just so you guys keep making them... Reply Posted on

I'm still playing these games at age twenty-one, and they're always fun. Thanks for so many fond memories! Keep it up! Reply Posted on
Dragon Fable was another of my favorites mainly because of my love of dragons. When AQW came out I knew it would be amazing. I cant say just how many adventures me and my pet shadow dragon, Draco, have gone on, or how many bosses we've soloed, all I know is that we've had a blast the whole time (literally Draco almost ate my friend when he was wearing a taco suit, and burned his underwater house down. Apparently those underwater breathing potions are flamable...)
You guys have inspired me to major in computer programming, and to make a few games of my own. Many people think being 14 is being too old to play your games but I beg to differ. I am in college and still enjoy your games. With AQW being my favorite so far, I know the AE team will make all their games just as epic. Battle on! Reply Posted on
I started playing the original AdventureQuest in the summer of 2005, and stayed on for a while. I don't exactly remember how I found this, but I think it was by clicking on an advertisement. To set this in perspective, I think I joined the game around the same time Carnax originally appeared. After playing AQ for a while, and after DF coming out, I started to play both, but soon moved on to DF more. Then, when MQ came out, I did pretty much the same thing; I started to abandon DF for MQ. Once AQW came out, however, I almost dedicated all of my time with that. I was able to get into beta, and still have the Beta Berzerker, and even the Barber, classes to prove it. I have been pretty much checking in at least once a week, and many times more. No game has moved above it: Epic Duel was ok, but the PvP dependency was too much for me, and I just lost interest in Herosmash.
But above all, was what AQ did to my life. Before AQ, I pretty much played, when it came to video games, Pokemon and similar titles. However, the discovery of AQ for myself was also a discovery of the traditional RPG setting. This even extended into gaining my love of Renaissance Fairs, mideval history and the like. If it were not for Adventure Quest, I probably would be like my brothers; Sitting on the couch 24/7 playing Modern Warfare 3. Instead, I sit on the couch and play Skyrim 24/7. :P
So, in all, thank you Artix Entertainment, past and present, for the wonderful experience. See you in the future! Reply Posted on

Hmm, in 2007 I think. I accidentally clicked an AQ add, tried the game and actually liked it, became Guardian a few months later.
Found out about AQW the same way, on accident. :P later on I played most of the AE games and made awesome friends.
And now I am comment moderator here, (yes, I just approved all posts below)time goes fast. Congrats with the anniversary Artix Entertainment!
My favourite game so far is AQWorlds, but I 'm very much exited about AQ3D.

T'was a dark and stormy night/middle of the day. In the momentous month of July '09, I, Zhing who is also Twinckletoes, made my first (EVAR) online game account. It was an AQWorlds player account, back in the day before E-mail was required to sign up. Soon after that, I discovered DragonFable, and embarked upon a journey called "A Hero is Bored". Then I became a MechQuest fan, and even took a stab at AQ Classic and occasionally HeroSmash. An EpicDuel account was created; I became an avid fan of AE. I have defeated every Chaos Lord to date, and have almost completed DF Chapter Two, though I have already begun Chapter Three. I cannot decide which I enjoy more: the fast-paced, electricly addicting MMORPG AQWorlds, or the ever-punny, down-to-earth DragonFable. Depends on which suits my current mood.
I am soooo excited for Rolith + Alina!! They are (have been for a while) married in real life, right?
And the secret special release... psyche!! Thank you all for such awesome games!! Cannot wait for the next one!! Reply Posted on
Or some sort of time-traveling person. Possibly, he could arrive in all 6 at once - and then be defeated in each by the players?
One more idea would be to have something to do with space - at some point in all of the games there's a space adventure... So they could do something like that - maybe even combining my time fiend idea as well.
I hope you consider my ideas. I would've been more detailed, but these just popped into my head when I read the AQW DNs.

i still play dragonfable, but in last 5 years i also started playing the Original Adventure Quest and AdventureQuest Worlds (my 2nd fav game on the internet).

and AQworlds 2010
+Aq classic was my first played browser game played it was so epic and armors are very cool! I really like the classes even if half of it are for guardians!
+Dragonfable was the second game I played I really like the story and the dragons!!! Even though I killed thousands of dragons. My account is lvl 70+
so I got bored.!
+ I got the maximum lvl!....I liked MechQuest because of its attacks and the free players items are almost the same as the upgraded items but the upgrade items are much cooler!
+finally Aqworld I started playing this game as a pledged Good Hero but when I discovered Nulgath and Dage I got obsessed on their items... I have been completing offers for Dage .I liked Aqworlds since 2011 because the classes, items, quests, and more got doubled and became more Epic!
The game I really like is AQWorlds because it is connected to all other games like the chrono span it is connected to AQ , DF , MQ and there are new events or releases every week! And there are many cool items for Free players Like me!

:) Finally figured out how to post a comment here. Took me about three months... I think I've been playing AE games for about 7 to 8 years now. I started with the classic AQ when I was 12 (back when the age limit was still 13). I didn't play it for a long time though. I got stuck in the maze of different story lines. After that I discovered dragonfable, at the time it wasn't much more than the sneevil fortres and the farm with seedspitters and gorillaphants. I guess I played that game for about 4 years. I started playing mechquest about a day after the Betá release, but got stuck in the game once again and returned to playing dragonfable until AQWorlds Betá release went live. After that I've also tried playing Hero Smash, but it didn't manage to interest me for too long. I guess I'm getting old :(
Anyway...
In general I really like your games, especially AQWorlds and dragonfable, but what I like most about AE games is the lively community and the various design notes. I honestly spend more time reading those than playing your games. I love the stories about the people from the various design teams, both the serious and the insanely silly ones. Keep up the good work! Oh, and congratulations with AE's 10th birthday. I hope to be able to enjoy your games and stories for many more years. Reply Posted on
account wich is a guardian :) . After AQ I find DragonFable, one of the best RPG I played. After Mech Quest and EpicDuel(from epic duel entertaiment). In 2008 AQW was the best thing I ever heard, but i wasn't a guardian , dragonlord, or a starcapitain so i wasn't able to play with my character Anticus from 2009 (hacked, he was lvl 19/20) so i didn't give up and i created a new character named MONDARK he is 1st upholder and i'm very proud, but my favorite armor, class is Alpha Pirate. I love that classic design and i.m very sad cause i don't have it, but this means gaiming :). After AQW I played a lot of Epic Duel now from AE. After ED I finished BladeHaven, and i get de gnome. HeroSmash was good at beginning, but in bera I don't know what happend. And Pony VS Pony ... Is funny. And I want to finish with Oversol one of the best AE games (i have all characters) and AQ3D Legend of Lore the big AE project( i still want that inventory :)) ).
All this years I playd a lot of games but i feel sometjing special playing you're games Artix. Thank.you gor all BattleOn Games.

(note:i think i probably could have had that second note changed into a 3rd or 4rth note by taking off pieces and making separate chapters... wow doing this is great practice for english class, too bad i'm too lazy to separate, i'll do it next time) Reply Posted on
That is my oldest character, though I played a good while before. I remember your old art quite fondly, how the moglins made me think of gremlins, how I was expecting them to turn into ugly little goblin thingies when using a water attack on them haha. Remember spending a lot of time in chat talking with the various devs that are long gone from AE now. My first Mogloween where I thought the pumpkin carver was the best thing ever, running around in the avenger armor and sphinx sword, and four other wind weapons because it was my favorite at the time. Battleon changed so much since those days, for the better in most ways. Now to mention the good ol' slax axe. Probably the most epic thing ever in that game would have to be the Great Fire War, Carnax war came close to capturing that feeling, but didn't quite make it. DragonFable's release was pretty epic, was awe inspiring for me, and the story continues to get epic. Juggling the two releases each week between work and school. Sadly I didn't give mechquest a whole lot of love for that reason, though I'm a fan of Warlic. Which brings me to AQW, don't think I've had so much fun in beta since Star Wars Galaxy. Being able to slide onto buildings, do weird glitches, showing off the star sword as a badge of armor, and the Captain killing my poor character haha. You came a long way Artix, from a small lunch break game, should be quite proud of what you've accomplished. You have hundred of thousands of players playing your game from around the world, and to think it almost started out as something different. :P you'll have to show off those old sketches again. Keep up the good work, can't wait to give the new 3D game a whirl. If I could change anything, well, the only thing I'd change is something that didn't suck as much as flash haha. Congrats and good luck on future endeavors! I grew up with these games, wouldn't mind growing old and showing the kids the games. Reply Posted on
I remember refreshing the game on my study breaks to catch a free server slot on original AQ. AQ was just I was needed back then, a single player online browser RPG game.
Aaaaaand...
DragonFable FTW!!! Reply Posted on
I started playing at 1/11/2006 7:17:00 PM when I first found AdventureQuest.
Back then I was super happy to find something to entertain myself that could run on a dial-up connection, and more importantly it had dragons in it.
Which one is my favorite? Well I play aqw more often because I can run around as a red draconian in a purple suit but if I was to pick a favorite it would be dragonfable.
Mainly because well I'm a dragon fanatic, just wish there was more to do with my dragon like maybe instead of the set skill set they have now maybe they can choose a class. Warrior class version for dragons, rouge, mage, ect. Or maybe be able to purchase and mix and match new skills to customize how my dragon fights?
Haven't really played dragonfable much but it is still my favorite. Reply Posted on

After 2 years of intensive DF playing, I found the other games, and the blessed forums! From there, it's all history.
My fav would be DF. Because the art is so amazingly simple yet detailed and the story is so deep an debatable. Overall, it's a world that is very fun to be immersed in. I wish you AE the best and hope you continue developing games for a loooong time. :)
