Artix will be running a booth at Free Play Florida in Orlando this weekend.
It has been 4 years since we last attended this awesome local convention. (Orlando is sorta local to Tampa, right?) It is sorta like a giant weekend long all-you-can-play arcade. Arcade games, pinball, retro games, and some celebs. The kids and I really enjoyed the last one. My buddy Gil just finished his NES game, Hazard. He will be showing his new game off there. He asked me if I wanted to go too... and thought, why not? It would be fun!
Going to to put two retro gaming stations for people to play on at the booth. During the pandemic I acquired two tall monitor stands with little shelves for gaming consoles. Have not had a chance to use them yet... so excited to battle test them. Maybe we should name them? Xing/Xang? Righty/Wrongly? Stand & Deliver? I am open to better suggestions :D
Mostly I will try to have the booth on autopilot so I can play some games :D But to make this an official "work trip" I am going to flash a few carts of BackwardsQuest, NecroNancy, and Pizza Portals to take there. Also taking 10 of the remaining Dungeons & DoomKnights. We only have about 20 collectors 1st editions left (which is why we pulled them from HeroMart.) Maybe I should bring the GIANT LIFE-SIZED TWILLY PLUSHIE with me for photo ops.
